Schrems says facebook might share the information with companies dealing with huge amounts of personal data must comply fully with privacy laws, because more than 800 million people use facebook. In Ireland alone, almost half of over 15 years of ag people use the site.
There are few methods which were shared to people by Europe Vs Facebook initiative to know how facebook is using and storing and sharing users privacy data.
Method 1:
Facebook says it provides "an easy way for people to download everything they have ever posted on facebook". To "download a copy of your facebook data" click on blue bar on facebook at the top of the page and choose account settings.
Method II:
Europe Vs Facebook says that user never get the total information facebook posses about that user.To get the full information user needs to fill out a separate online form to get this.It is a well hidden page to access it through the "get your link" on europe-v-facebook.org
Schrems says,to complete the form i had to provide a scan of a government issude ID containing signature, full name,DOB and photo. It was prompted to give out my personal information, such as passport number that was not needed to verify my identity and the site would subsequently delete the scan.
I also had to cite the law made which i was requesting the information (in EU jurisdiction it can be requested under sectiom 12 of Eu directive 95/46/EC).
I got a mail within minutes saying that, due to recent high volume of personal data access requests, there would be a delay of about 40 day period set down by Irish DPO(Data Protection Officer).
