Facebook's Ireland offices are being auditied for retaining users deleted data as per the guardian reports..
The case began when 24 year old Max Schrems has requested for the copy of his personal data in june.
He received a CD of about 1200 pages with all his activities from the intial activity of him in facebook and he found some permanently deleted data in that CD.
Schrems filed some 22 individual claim cases by highlighting the terms and conditions in facebook by initialising a Europe VS Facebook initiative.
According to ZDNET, that Ireland's DPC(Data Protection Comissioner) has yileded for tha audit of facebook which is mostly to occur before christmas.This could really damage facebook with the negative publicity than the fine amount it could be penalized.
In february 2009, Facebook has changed the terms and conditions that it could handle or change any personal data of any user in the way they want.
This could be the backlash of facebook publicly that any private information of any user can be used by the facebook as the way they want.
Mark Zuckerberg explained elaborately in blog post, how the changes they made were necessary.
He clarifies with a valid argument that if a user wants to delete some data permanently related to another user, where as the other user might be interested in that data and he might store it. so they have made some changes in terms and conditions.
